The Northside Church

To start off, Mark reads through a couple Psalms, then we have a time of worship and some time for sharing. Scott delivers the message today, about how God has plans for each of us, and Scott challenges us about if we are seeking out, and asking God what those plans are.

Jaedon and Kaeli give an introduction before our time of worship, and we also get a chance to hear from Meagan and Evan Klassen, who have been living in Thailand, and are back in Canada for a while. We hear a bit about their time in Thailand, and challenge us with how we live as followers of Jesus, and who people see in the the way we live... to be someone who leads everyone they meet to Jesus. We also hear from Steve about being humble in the face of adversity, and living in a way where we ask Jesus what he would do in the situations in our life.

We have a time of worship, as well as a time of prayer. Also, Mark speaks to us about Advent, 'the coming of Christ', and we hear a number of testimonies of how people met Jesus and came to a place of deeper faith in God.

Great time of sharing and hearing from God. We heard from the book of Ephesians 5: 1-21, where Paul talks about walking in the way of love, just as Christ Jesus loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. We focused on verses 15 and 16 which say: "See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

We have an introduction, and some thoughts to think about from Mark. Then we have a time of worship, and Andy talks to us about some things he has had on his heart regarding pride and humility. After, we end the meeting this morning with a time of sharing, and thoughts from our fellow members.

Mark speaks about how man looks at the outward appearance, but God sees the heart, referencing 1 Samuel 16:7, and 1 Peter 3:4, as well as a number of other scriptures. We also have some announcements, a time of worship, and a time of hearing people's thoughts.

We were reassured of our freedom in Christ Jesus from Galatians 5. "For the purpose of freedom, Christ has set us free." Primarily, spiritual freedom is to be released from our sinful selfishness into the freedom of loving with the love of Jesus Christ.

Les and Christine start us off, then we have a time of worship, and have a time for sharing and giving thanks to God, and Mark speaks about how loving God, and his instruction, brings peace, and that this focus helps to keep us from stumbling, and how that relates to being thankful.
